MY ROLE: Print Design, Illustration, Font Creation

COMPETITION BRIEF: Submit a poster design showcasing the unique character of Fremont neighbourhood for their 2017 Summer Solstice bike parade and celebration.

SOLUTION: I submitted this poster, aiming to capture the excitement, colour and noise of the neighbourhood’s annual solstice celebration. I decided on an illustration style that would be playful, fun and appeal to adults and children alike. I created a unique font and illustrated playful characters along with some of my favourite Fremont neighbourhood fixtures. Adobe Illustrator was primarily used, including for the illustrative font. This was my first foray into font creation.

The Fremont Arts Council chose this design and used it to promote Seattle’s 2017 Summer Solstice Celebration.
